Why Your Gut Health Matters

Your gut is the gateway to your overall health! When your gut thrives, you’ll notice positive changes in every aspect of your well-being:

• Lose weight and keep it off – Your gut helps you digest food and absorb nutrients, so you feel fuller and more satisfied. (1)

• Sleep deeply through the night – A healthy gut supports serotonin production, which regulates your sleep cycle. (2)

• Glowing skin – A balanced gut maintains healthy fats, keeping your skin moisturised, clear, and radiant. (3)

• Boost your mood – Your gut produces feel-good chemicals like dopamine and GABA, elevating your mental well-being. (4)

• Endless energy – A well-functioning gut absorbs nutrients efficiently, giving you lasting energy throughout the day. (5)

Could Your Gut Be Holding You Back?

More than 35 -70% of people struggle with gut health (6), experiencing discomforts that affect daily life.

Food Intolerance, Leaky Gut & Candida Overgrowth.

Let’s Take a Healthy Gut Test
to See Where Your Gut Is At

Are you suffering from any of these symptoms?

I have an upset stomach on a regular basis. Frequent discomfort, gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and heartburn could be signs that your gut has difficulty processing food and eliminating waste.
I feel tired all the time. People with chronic fatigue may have imbalances in the gut. One study found that almost half of the people with fatigue also had IBS. (9)
I can’t sleep through the night. An unhealthy gut can cause insomnia or poor sleep, which leads to fatigue. Most of your body’s serotonin, which affects mood and sleep, is produced in the gut. So, when there are bacteria or inflammation in the gut, your sleep may be affected as well. (2)
I’m intolerant to some foods. Food intolerances may be caused by poor quality of bacteria in the gut. You may have a food intolerance if you struggle to digest certain foods. This can cause bloating, gas, diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain. (10)
I have extreme food cravings, especially for sugary snacks. Too much sugar can cause too much “bad” bacteria in the gut. High amounts of sugar, especially high-fructose corn syrup, are linked to inflammation in the body and put you at risk for other diseases. (11)
I have unintentional weight gain or loss. When your gut is imbalanced, your body may struggle to absorb nutrients, store fat, and regulate blood sugar. Weight loss or gain may be caused by bacteria overgrowth or lack of nutrients. (1)
I have skin irritations. Some skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis may be related to gut issues. (5)
I get migraines. There may be a link between headaches and gut health, especially if you experience nausea or vomiting with migraines. Studies suggest that people with frequent headaches are more likely to have gastrointestinal disorders too. (12)
I have autoimmune problems. Some “bad” gut bacteria may trigger autoimmune conditions like thyroid issues, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and type 1 diabetes. (13)
I have frequent mood changes. Gut problems and inflammation in the nervous system can lead to anxiety and depression. (13)

Modern Life Is Hard on Your Gut...

Stress, medications, processed foods, alcohol, and even pollutants in the air can wreak havoc on your gut health. It’s easy to feel helpless, but it’s not your fault!

Once compromised, our gut becomes a breeding ground for bad bacteria to grow.

The good news?

You don’t have to live this way. You can take back control of your gut health—and it’s easier than you think.

My Journey to Gut Health

Hi, my name is Deborah Murtagh. I’m a leading expert in Dietary Interventions for Metabolic Dysfunction.
Growing up in a medical home and becoming a nurse aide while still in high school, I was always interested in health. But this wasn’t just due to my environment—it was personal.

Throughout my childhood and teen years, I suffered from an inflammatory spine condition called Scheuermann’s Disease (a form of juvenile osteochondrosis of the spine), which was triggered by a dramatic fall off a racehorse when I was 10 years old.

This led to chronic pain, resulting in my being prescribed a very high-dose anti-inflammatory medication three times a day for around seven years. A side effect of this was migraine headaches, which I also endured—all while my hormones were still developing.
At 13, I started menstruating, but I didn’t stop haemorrhaging for three months. I was then put on a third-generation contraceptive pill (which was later banned), and it caused instant weight gain. By the time I was 15, I was 50 pounds overweight and on top of that I had IBS!

In my search for answers, I discovered not only the best diet to reverse my weight gain—after all traditional methods failed—but also a way to naturally reverse the high levels of inflammation in my body.

I had finally found something that would enable me to heal my body naturally, and day goodbye to pharmaceuticals, for LIFE!  But it wasn't due to diet alone. My body needed additional help!

As I began my studies in natural medicine, I stumbled upon another answer to my long-standing health struggles:
Gut Health!

How My Life Changed Once
I Fixed My Gut Issues

I discovered that I had Leaky Gut Syndrome, which prevented me from properly digesting nutrients. This led to multiple food sensitivities and even more inflammation throughout my body, causing hormone imbalances, insulin resistance, and chronic pain.

As soon as I repaired my gut, everything reversed, and my health was fully restored.

No more chronic pain, migraines, IBS, back and neck aches, or disrupted menstrual cycles.

It was so profound that once I graduated from my studies, I decided to specialize in cellular-level detoxification and gut health. For the next two decades of my clinical practice, regardless of my patients' symptoms, everyone started with a thorough gut repair. Why? Because gut health is the foundation of all health.

The Results of Focusing on
Gut Health First

The results were nothing short of miraculous. Eighty percent of my patients never required additional treatments for their various ailments. The success of my clinic led to 2-3 month waiting lists, all because I was helping them fix the foundation of wellness.

Fixing my gut not only transformed my life but has now impacted tens of thousands of others as well.

This approach was so important that when I developed my dietary protocols and The Ketogenic Switch—A Metabolic Health Program, which 250,000 people have now completed, I identified The Healing Phase.

The Healing Phase focuses on reducing gut inflammation, eliminating food sensitivities, and healing the gut’s epithelial cells and beneficial bacteria to restore a healthy microbiome. Using probiotic-rich foods, we heal the digestive system.

When you correct the gut, you correct the entire body.

What’s really amazing is that by overcoming my own health challenges and weight issues, I’ve gone on to help over a quarter of a million women worldwide. This has not only transformed their health but also positively impacted the wellbeing of their families and communities—all because I fell off a horse when I was 10 years old!

I Focus on the Root Causes of Disease, Not Just Symptoms!

70% of the entire human immune system is found in the “gut”– as well as 80% of plasma cells responsible for antibody production. (15)
The jury is in: The microbiome is inextricably linked to our immunity, with a growing body of research to support this fact.

As the Father of Medicine once said:
Unfortunately, the gut is called the “Forgotten Organ” for a reason.
And Most Busy Doctors Don’t Have Time to Investigate the Root Cause of Your Gut Symptoms… So The Easiest Thing to Do is Prescribe More Meds!
My story wasn't just physical though...
During my years of spiralling health issues and barely treating symptoms with pharmaceuticals, I was never getting better.

I was a frequent flyer at my Doctor's office!  — Week after week, year after year, I was offered no help, and things continued to get worse!   The anti-inflammatory pills resulted in MORE inflammation which cause more and more health problems! My entire body suffered! That's because pharmaceuticals do not fix the underlying cause of issues, they treat the symptoms.

Living with all these issues, resulted in major depression during my teens, to the point I was suicidal.

For two years, I suffered in silence and cried myself to sleep every night for the best part of 2 years in my teens. Little did I know at the time, but my diet and my gut health were a major cause of my depression. That's because our feel-good hormones are made by healthy bacteria in the gut.  Yet my medications were destroying my gut microbiome leading to low dopamine and serotonin.
On top of this, I had Epstein Barr Virus which caused chronic fatigue.  I struggled to get through the day.  I was chronically tired and exhausted and literally dragged myself through those years.

Too many people share similar health stories! But I am here to help you!
Sadly, most people suffer in silence with gut issues until they take matters into their own hands.

I have devoted my life to inspiring natural health and healing. So far my career has spanned over 3 decades and over 250,000 women have now gone through my weight loss and health programs, and I am here to remind you how AMAZING your body is, and if you give her the right environment, she will reverse debilitating conditions.  And the secret to both prevention and cure is doing an Annual Microbiome repair program to ensure you are protecting the most vital part of your immune system; your gut.
